About Betsy
Betsy Modrzejewski is the visionary founder of Wandering Drama Company, a traveling theatre troupe dedicated to bringing innovative character performances to the DFW area. Betsy offers over twenty-five years of experience acting, working with young people and designing new initiatives. She earned a M.A. from Eastern Michigan University in Applied Drama/Theatre for the Young and a B.S. in Theatre from Towson University.
Betsy acted and taught theatre professionally in Maryland, Virgina and Michigan before moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in 2005. Highlights of her professional career include serving as Education Director of Flint Youth Theatre, directing Summer Theatre Workshop in Keller for ten years and working with students at Roeper School, The Henry Ford Museum, Colonial Williamsburg and Saginaw Valley State University. Betsy stays active in the DFW theatre community through her work as a teaching artist for Broadway Dallas, performing as an actor with American Immersion Theatre and through her position as an Adjunct Professor at Tarrant County College. Betsy presented her techniques at multiple conferences including American Alliance for Theatre in Education Conference and TAGT.
An active member of the Christmas performer community, Betsy holds certifications from multiple Christmas Performer schools. During the holiday season, you will find Betsy joyfully performing as Mrs. Claus. She finished the 2024 Christmas season portraying Mrs. Claus on Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Northpole Express.
Betsy’s dynamic character performances are known for their creative use of improvisation, puppetry, storytelling, humor and audience interaction. She believes in the power of drama to tell stories, ignite creativity and build community.
